Meech Boakye

Meech Boakye is a visual artist whose practice is rooted in relationships with floral, fungal, and microbial kin as armatures for learning how to be in community. Wild yeasts are fed, aged, shared, and digested in stomachs; organic matter finds an afterlife as bioplastic and decomposes in piles of hot compost; poems are coded and collaboratively written with friends or neural-network AI. Through material research and relational work, ongoing multi-species collaborations form the foundation of my practice, ultimately functioning as a conduit for remediation from extractive landscapes.
